California Fires “A Quarantine Christmas Story”

When I wake up I can feel the season
The falling leaves –are falling falling even faster than before in California
The fires are rapidly approaching
And the governor said -it’s never ever been like this before in California

The heat wave is not doing anybody a favor
When ashes fall they get in all your things and then your neighbor screams “wtf is going on?”
So you pretend like there ‘s really nothing happening, you put on your mask
You get on with your day - you buy your Oat latte in California

All I think about is making money
The hustle & bustle I just hope I make my rent on time without an extra charge
On top of that we are in a pandemic
And my stimulus check - has not arrived yet - how long does it take? I did my taxes this time

The government is not doing anybody a favor
While the rich get richer - the poor get poorer- all the people ask, “Wtf is going on?”
So we pretend like there’s really nothing happening, we put on our mask
We get on with our day – we buy an Oat latte in California

I hope there are still trees left this Christmas
I hope they didn’t all burn up in the fires
I wish we didn’t have to cut down trees this Christmas
Haven’t we seen enough death? For a while?
Why can’t we plant a tree instead?
And be on our merry way
