Say Something by Nancy Sanchez Don’t assume that just because you’re tweeting in your room Somebody’s gonna get the job done Don’t assume that things are gonna change for me and you If you aren’t willing to put up a fight If there’s injustice in the air There is no justice anywhere People are calling for change Today they come for me But tomorrow they’ll come for you If I don’t say something If you don’t say something If we don’t say something There won’t be anybody left If I just keep watching If you just keep watching If we just keep watching There wont be anybody left Playing it safe is not gonna get us anywhere We need your demonstration We can’t un-see what we’ve just seen We cannot turn around now that we’ve got their attention If there’s injustice in the air There is no justice anywhere People are calling for change Today they come for me But tomorrow they’ll come for you If I don’t say something If you don’t say something If we don’t say something There won’t be anybody left If I just keep watching If you just keep watching If we just keep watching There won’t be anybody left

“The Kids Are Still In Cages” By Nancy Sanchez I was told to go back where I came from Back where I belong, but I don’t know where I belong I was brought here in my mother’s arms Just a little girl searching for the stars Circumstances forced my parents to leave We crossed the line, in 1989 It’s never easy to leave your life behind A whole new culture, a brand new way of life Without knowing the language, without even a dime The only frame of mind is to keep that dream alive It’s not easy to survive Lets not forget about the ones who weren’t so lucky They traveled far in search of their American dream Only to find a world so cruel and empty While the city burns and world rages the kids are still in cages As time goes by and you assimilate and you integrate It’s easy to forget that you were once in their shoes With every car you buy and the “I got mine so fuck you” mentality You loose your humanity How can you live with yourself? Lets not forget about the ones who weren’t so lucky They traveled far in search of their American dream Only to find a world so cruel and empty While the city burns and world rages the kids are still in cages What about them? The kids in cages are waiting For a friend What about them? What about them? The kids in cages are waiting To be saved What about them?

about

Nancy's new 3 song EP of protest songs called SAY SOMETHING is dedicated to this newly activated generation. These songs were written this Summer during the height of the Black Lives Matter Movement.

SAY SOMETHING was written as an anthem for this new generation that understands that staying silent will not work today. We must speak our minds and demand that the government enacts policies that protects our civil rights and ensures justice and equality for all.

THE KIDS ARE STILL IN CAGES is both a Beautiful and Powerful ballad that shines light on the humanitarian crisis at our border and the personal story of Nancy's own immigration experience.

HASTA QUE TODOS ESTEMOS A SALVO is A Powerfully messaged folk-ballad re-imagined as an eletro-cumbia anthem designed to get a large crowd dancing, celebrating and inspired to demand Equality, Justice, and Peace in their communities, countries and the world.
